The 1897 Clark County Jail Museum, Inc. operates
as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization ~ with the mission of
maintining this beautiful and unique historical building,
while providing access to the rich history of Clark County,
WI and its citizens ~ living or remembered.
To acheive these goals, the Museum relies on income
from tours, member dues, fundraising activities, donations
and grants.
We use these funds in many ways....
1.
To operate and maintain the Jail Museum building
(utilities, roof repairs (don’t get us started!), painting,
carpet / floor replacement, furnace & plumbing
maintenance, and lots of insurance);
2.
Preservation and maintenance the Museum’s
Exhibits and Collections (archival supplies, storage
shelves and boxes, displays, plus a lot of volunteer
hours and “elbow grease”);
3.
Creation of new exhibits as time and resources
permit;
4.
Providing educational opportunities for volunteers
and area school children (seminars, materials,
school tours events, National History Day
sponsorships);
5.
Providing research materials and tools for members
and visitors to use (computers, printers, supplies,
books, software and memberships); and
6.
Keeping the Museum open for summer tours as well
as private and group tours.
We appreciate your support
of the 1897 Clark County Jail Museum!
